Sun Microsystems have acquired popular database MySQL.

Sun Microsystems have created software like Java. I don’t like the Java licensing, they don’t allow java to be included as part of other software. They need end users get it directory from sun’s site. Real difficult for most users. This this is reason you don’t see easy installers on FreeBSD or Linux for java, it seems recently some installers are available for FreeBSD.

Not sure if Sun will change MySQL licensing too. I hate installing java on servers as i need to download from sun site to my pc, then upload to server. (I have done this once, i have a copy on my server and i use that for installing when i need, still not a good thing to do).
