One of the reasons that made a popular messaging app Snapchat highly popular was because of the feature that let the message expire itself in a certain time. And surely, it is a founding father of such feature. However, it is not going to be alone as Facebook is also reportedly said to be testing similar feature on the iOS platform.
Facebook spokesperson reportedly said, “We’re running a small pilot of a feature on Facebook for iOS that lets people schedule deletion of their posts in advance.” The iOS users may soon see an option which would allow a post to “expire” anywhere from 1 hour to week. For those that are wondering, even after the post expires and is removed from the timeline, it still takes a few months to take it out of the back-up servers.
