Handset maker BlackBerry Monday launched its flagship smartphone BlackBerry Passport in India for Rs.49,990. “Passport symbolises mobility. The size of this mobile is portable enough to easily tuck into pockets and handbags. The phone has a large square touch screen and new QWERTY touch-enabled keyboard. Its wider screen will give added edge to power professional,” said BlackBerry India managing director Sunil Lalvani. This is the second phone out of BlackBerry’s stable this year in India. The company is planning to launch another handset by February 2015.
“Pre-booking has started for Passport at Amazon and BlackBerry exclusive stores from Monday. Customers pre- booking at Amazon.in would receive a gift card worth Rs. 5,000. It will be available across stores from October 10 for Rs. 49,990,” BlackBerry India Managing Director Sunil Lalvani said at the launch event. BlackBerry Passport has 4.5 LCD touch screen (1440x1440p resolution, 453PPI) and a capacitive touch 3-row BlackBerry Keyboard.
