Enable AWStats “Update Now” Button in cPanel

AWstats (Advanced Web Statistics) is a free powerful tool to track visitors on your website. AWstats provide useful information like unique visitors on your website, visits per visitor, pages per visit, hits per visit and KB per visit.

Using AWstats you can analyze monthly and daily traffic of your website, from which countries you are getting visitors, pages of website getting highest number of hits etc.

Login to your WHM (Web Host Manager).

Click on “Tweak Settings” under “Server Configuration”

Click on “Stats and Logs” tab in Tweak Settings

You can see “Allow users to update Awstats from cPanel” . By default this option is ‘off’ on cPanel Server.

Change “Allow users to update Awstats from cPanel” to ‘on’. Select the ‘on’ radio button.

Scroll down and click on ‘Save’ to save the changes you have made in Tweak Settings.

Login to your cPanel. (http://domainname.com/cpanel)

Click on File Manager and select “Home directory”. Open “AWstats” directory within “tmp” directory.

/home/USER/tmp/awstats/

Select the conf file of the site you wish to edit. Right click on the “awstats.domainname.com.conf” configuration file and you can see “Edit” option.

Change the line AllowToUpdateStatsFromBrowser=0 to AllowToUpdateStatsFromBrowser=1

Click on “Save” after changing the above to “1”

Now check AWstats of the domain and you can now see “Update now” button.
