Rediff has now joined the bandwagon of companies which have been inspired by the Apple’s iXYZ branded products and services.
The Indian based web company has launched a social content sharing platform named iShare.
Rediff says that this platform would enable web users to share their videos, music and images.
The platform would also provide a platform to professional content owners to distribute their work.
Rediff.com Chairman and CEO Ajit Balakrishnan said in a statement on this new product development: “Multimedia growth is driving the internet in a big way and by bringing together audio, video and images through ‘iShare’ we are targeting maximum online users.”
The company has also now tied up with Zee TV specifically for their ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ contest. Zee Entertainment Enterprises Senior Vice President Marketing Tarun Mehra added: “By launching the joint initiative, the channel will be able to attract more young audience, help build equity of the brand and would be able to enhance international footprint.”
Rediff would be providing the interested users a utility that would enable them to upload multiple files from various sources like mobile phones, digicam, camcorders and mp3 players.
We believe that it would become just another YouTube/PhotoBucket clone.
