Install TeamSpeak 3 Server on CentOS/Ubuntu

TeamSpeak is popular Voice Chat Program. To install TeamSpeak 3 server, download latest version of TeamSpeak 3 from

http://www.teamspeak.com/?page=downloads

Create a user on your Linux Server

useradd -m ts3user

Change to the user

su - ts3user

Or, you can SSH in as the user you created.

Now download and run TeamSpeak 3 Server

wget http://dl.4players.de/ts/releases/3.0.11.3/teamspeak3-server_linux-amd64-3.0.11.3.tar.gz
tar zxvf teamspeak3-server_linux-amd64-3.0.11.3.tar.gz
cd teamspeak3-server_linux-amd64
./ts3server_startscript.sh start

When you run first time, it will generate token, when you connect to TeamSpeak server from TS3 client, you can enter this token to become administrator.

ts3user@cloud2:~/teamspeak3-server_linux-amd64$ ./ts3server_startscript.sh start
Starting the TeamSpeak 3 server
TeamSpeak 3 server started, for details please view the log file
ts3user@cloud2:~/teamspeak3-server_linux-amd64$
