Google announced it is bringing a new domain name to the Web: .’SOY’. Not to be confused with the popular vegetarian alternative to meat, the new domain means “I am” in Spanish.
.SOY is a space for this influential community to create, discover and connect with culturally relevant content and ideas online. It’s a place where you can build a website for your growing small business or new business venture, or share your passion with the world. When you visit a site that ends in .SOY, you’ll know it was created with a Latino audience in mind.
The company has also set up a sort of central hub for the domain, iam.soy, where you can find out more about the new sites with the domain, check domain availability and then purchase from name registrar partners it if you want.
This follows other recent news of custom top-level domains, such as the new .NYC domains.
